Flycatchers
This Ash-throated Flycatcher was along the PCT southbound from Fred Canyon Road near Kitchen Creek.
This fluffy Black Phoebe was photographed at Lake Perris State Rec Area.
This Black Phoebe was guarding the porta pottie at Ramer Lake.

A juvenile Black Phoebe at San Elijo Lagoon.
Those are two baby Pacific-slope Flycatchers huddled in the nest on Catalina Island, looking straight at us!
Lousy pictures of a rare bird for San Diego County: recently arrived Brown-crested Flycatchers in Borrego Springs. The bill on this bird didn't look as big as I'm used to seeing on BC's, but he was vocalizing like crazy, which clinched the ID.
The jury's still out on this guy, but he was hanging out at the Roadrunner Club, where the county's first record of Brown-crested Flycatcher appeared in August of 2000. Again, the bill looks terribly small to me, but the yellow on the underparts look quite bright and he seemed quite large overall. Unfortunately, this guy wouldn't talk...
