Doves, Parrots, and Cuckoos

A Mourning Dove along the eastern end of the El Camino Real Trail at San Elijo Lagoon

Very rare outside of the desert, this White-winged Dove was in Pamo Valley May 4th, 2004

Another lost White-winged Dove, this one along Otay Mountain Road on May 23rd, 2007

Yet another bedraggled White-winged Dove was at Famosa Slough on August 29th, 2006

After breeding, adult birds can start looking a little ratty, like this White-winged Dove at the Roadrunner Club!

Calipatria's resident Ruddy Ground Doves (with an Inca Dove in the center shot)

With that much yellow in the face, I suspect that these amazons at Lindo Lake are probably Red-crowned x Yellow-headed Parrot hybrids.

A colony of at least 30 Black-hooded Parakeets (aka Nanday Conures) have made Sycamore Campground at Mugu State Park (Ventura Co.) their home!

I wasn't quick enough to shoot the Mockingbird that was bombing this Roadrunner at De Anza Country Club!
